The Will-Be-Webber Anatomy Game

So....at the ultrasound this morning there was a definite "something" in between the legs. According to the ultrasound tech it is equally possible that it is a certain piece of anatomy OR that it was a loop of umbilical cord.

All I have to say on the subject is that if it was umbilical cord, it was Very Suggestively Looped!

I did tell the baby that it's not nice to play tricks on Mommy about your gender, just in case that's what was happening, and we waited for some kicking and wiggling to potentially shift anything shiftable before checking again.....And It Was Still There.

You may draw your own conclusions; we are officially far enough along to tell for sure sometime about a month from now. :D

Guess who's walking!

And yes, I do realize I'm in trouble!

Last Friday morning she took two stumbling-fall-on-your-face steps and tumbled into my lap. Last Friday night she took 5 real steps on her way to greet her Rachel who had just come through the door for the weekend. Let me tell you, that one day seems to be a great predictor of the speed with which she plans to progress with this whole walking business. She is now up to 10 steps at a time, all over the house, night and day, and at daycare! Just this morning she pushed herself up off the floor to a standing position, picked up her piano, and hefted it six feet across the floor while maintaining her balance!

I've been holding off writing about it because I have been trying to get a picture, but I guess my description will have to suffice because she insists on falling over every time I try to snap the picture.

1) Let go of Mommy, couch, Daddy, toy, wall, etc.
2) Balance for a few moments, flex your legs, bounce up and down.
3) Fling your arms up in the air in front of you and reach for the nearest something.
4) Step, step, step, OVERBALANCE!
5) Either a. tumble or b. catch your balance, flex your legs, bounce a few times.
6) Fling your arms in front of you again and reach.
7) Step, step, step, TUMBLE!!!!
8) Grin at the nearest family member from the floor and clap with pride!

P.S. I've changed my settings to have the blog automatically emailed to my "preferred readers" when I add a post, and to allow even you out there without google email accounts to leave commentary. Let me know what you think...
