Life Update

Hello everyone! Here's a little update about the going-ons in Becca's world:

To make a long story short we had several issues with Rebecca's daycare that weren't getting any better after more than one meeting with their management and decided to withdraw her just over a week ago. Initially I took a leave from work to look for another daycare, but she's been doing so incredibly well at home with me that we decided to keep it this way.

Bobby worked out an arrangement for me with one of his friends who owns a comic book store to handle his EBay merchandise on commission and I just sent my first shipments out today!

Some of the best things about us being home again together:

Throwing rocks into the lake in Acton for as long as we want to.
Turning into prunes after swimming in the lake in Littleton for over an hour.
Outside time every day.
Art projects! She's learning how not to eat the markers.
Baking bread together....although mostly she just eats the dough.
Sleeping through the night!!! (sort of)
Happy smiles all day long and about 25 new words in the last week.
Having time to do the housework. :D

Updated Vocabulary List

In the past week it seems that Rebecca has a new word every other day or so. Just this morning she was shoving on my legs and hollered, "ASCOO ME!" This afternoon I was talking to her on the phone and she said, "Goodbye!" kissed the phone and took off! I was wondering this morning how many words she actually knows and was so surprised by the results I thought I'd share:

That's 30 words! Not to brag, but the development chart at the Pediatrician's says that my 14-month-old may EVEN know up to 10 words by now...

School, According to Becca

This morning before dropping Becca off I said that we could talk about school before we went and asked if there was anything about school she wanted to tell me.

She very emphatically nodded her head and said, "YES!"

So, figuring I can at least get a drift of what I'm being told based on tone and inflection, I said, "Go ahead, what do you want to tell me about school?"

She looks straight in my eyes and very seriously says, "DUCKIES!"

"OH!" I say. "Um, did you want to tell me anything else about school?"

"Nyo!" and off she went to play with toys.
